Def Leppard

Lead singer Joe Elliot suggested the name "Deaf Leopard" shortly after joining the band (then known as Atomic Mass). He had thought up the name while writing fake reviews for imaginary rock bands in his English class. (Likely a nod to rock band "Led Zeppelin"). It was suggested by Tony Kenning (a past member) suggested the name be spelled "Def Leppard" to feel less like a punk band (also akin to Led Zeppelin).
