4 Non Blondes

Apparently the name originated while the band was eating pizza in a park in San Francisco. A family - all members with blonde hair - walked by and the young boy stopped to pick up some pizza to feed the birds. He was then told by his parents, "No, don’t touch that, that’s dirty from all the birds and people around here" while glancing up at the band members. Afterwards the band decided their name would be 4 Non Blondes.
