Previous Names: The Rattlesnakes, The BG's
Their first gig was at a speedway performing for the crowd, in a deal with promoter/driver Bill Goode. He then introduced them to Brisbane DJ Bill Gates. It was Gates who originally named them "The BG's" in reference to Barry Gibb, Bill Goode and Bill Gates initials all being BG. Soon after the name was extended to "The Bee Gees".
